2014 Carnival Queen is chosen

Otley Carnival would not be the same without a Carnival Queen to take centre stage on the big day. The choice of the girl who is to fulfil this role on perhaps the most exciting day of her life was recently made. Accompanied by their proud and supportive parents, many local girls attended the selection evening, where they were asked to talk to the independent judges, Anne & Colin Whiers from Harrogate , Betty Syril from Baildon and Elizabeth Stewart from sponsors The Complete Care Agency.

After much deliberation and some very difficult decisions the judges’ choice was announced and the Carnival took an important step along the road towards this year’s Carnival on 21^st June. The 2014 Carnival Queen is to be Grace Metcalf and her Deputy will be Imogen McKeown. Grace will be attended by Thea Cummins, Hannah Sykes and Mia Maleckyj and Hannah Scott will act as the crown bearer .
