Otley Carnival chooses 2017 Carnival Queen

On Friday Otley Carnival chose the new Carnival Queen for 2017. Like all years the decision was tough and like to thank all those who applied for the various roles.

We are pleased to announce that Hannah Pears will be our new Carnival Queen and will be crowned on Carnival Day on June 17th. Hannah attends The Whartons and I am sure she will enjoy her year in her new role.

Hannah’s deputy will be Maisy Dixon and also attends Westgate School . Her attendants will be Ellie Whitaker and Molly Broadbent, while the crown bearer who both also attend The Whartons and the crown bearer will be Niamh Casey who attends St. Josephs.

The Carnival Committee wish the Carnival Queen and her team a successful year. I am sure they will serve our town well and enjoy your year and the hard work starts now.

We would like to thank the judges we gave up their Friday evening to judge. Big thanks to Anne & Colin Whiers, Betty Syril and Sandra Jones (Stephen Smiths)

Finally we would like to thank Stephen H Smith’s Garden Centre for sponsoring the Queens Evening. Sponsorship means more money raised can be given to the 2017 beneficiaries.
