Wharfedale Hospital in Otley is a part of The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which consists of Leeds General Infirmary, St James’s, Cookridge Hospital, Seacroft Hospital and Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds Chest Clinic and Wharfedale.

Minor Injuries Unit

Open from 7am until 11pm, every day.


In-Patient Care for Older People

There are 49 beds on two wards providing post-acute and re-habilitation care. Local GPs admit appropriate patients directly. Acutely ill patients from this catchment area are admitted to Leeds General Infirmary.

Day Hospital for Older People

Open three days per week, for patients who need to maintain contact with the hospital following discharge or for patients referred by their General Practitioner for assessment
Hand massage, which increases sense of wellbeing and comfort is provided by the Red Cross.
A Resource room, containing information for patients and carers is available.

Planned surgical care is offered on both an in-patient and day case basis for cases of less complexity and include surgery for:

The Otley Ladies Hospital Group - a fund-raising group who provide funds for ‘comfort items’ for patients and also visit patients.

Support Group

Cardiac Club, held each Wednesday by Physio Department. Referrals via GP or Consultant.
