The Real Story Of Puss In Boots
By
David Foxton
Produced by Phil Marston
Puss is owned by Martha Winterhedge, an Irish Fairy Godmother (you can tell
she is Irish by the accent). They are a pair of travelling storytellers, and
the panto is a story told by them. That's why it's a mixture of different
stories. Well, how else could you get Cinderella in the story of Puss in Boots?
Without giving the story away, Cinders lives next to Colin, both are poor
and bullied, Cinders by her evil stepsisters Drusilla and Blusilla, and Colin
by his cruel stepbrother Caleb. Colin inherits Puss, gives him Caleb's boots
(hence the title "Puss in Boots"), gets thrown out of his house,
becomes a Prince, goes to live in a castle, goes to the King's birthday ball
and meets Cinderella. She loses her shoe, and the rest - well - you'll just
have to watch the show to see how it ends!
