It's Panto time!

This year we presented “Robinson Crusoe & the Pirates” by Paul Reakes, produced by Charmian Thomas, at the Civic Centre between Tuesday 1 December and Saturday 5 December 2009, including our usual Matinee on Saturday. This was the very first pantomime OLT performed way back in 1981!

The story of Robinson Crusoe is well known but the introduction of the currently popular “Pirates” livened things up a bit – sorry we couldn't offer Johnny Depp but who needs Hollywood!

The Crusoe boys, Robinson and Willy, are thwarted in hopes of marriage by a girlfriend who has to keep going away to look after her granny and a prospective father-in-law who only wants his daughter to marry money. When they get the chance to become rich by finding treasure, they also find pirates in their way!

Will they get the treasure, and their girls? This is a romp in the best traditional panto style with plenty of audience participation, so join in and shout loudly!
