NEXT SEASON AT OTLEY LITTLE THEATRE
OLT are delighted to be able to announce that, following the decision to keep the Civic Centre in Otley open for a further period, their next two productions can now go ahead.
The first production of the year will be “Daisy Pulls It Off” by Denise Deegan, produced by our current Chairperson Gill Coverdale and will run at the Civic Centre from Wednesday 30 September 2009 to Saturday 3 October 2009 at 7.30p.m. each evening.
This is a comedy about a girl attempting to find acceptance in a rather snobby school and how she manages it through a number of highly amusing escapades a la “St Trinian’s”. The original play enjoyed a long and successful run at the Globe Theatre in London. Excellent entertainment for all the family, so please come along and support us.
Tickets priced £8 and £6 ( concessions) will be available from 0113 267 1216 or by sending a sae to Bruce Chalmers,1 Tinshill Walk, Cookridge, Leeds LS16 7 DX from July onwards.
No sooner will “school be out” then we will be launching our 28th consecutive pantomime on the Otley stage, so much loved by Brownies, Cubs, Scouts, Guides and all children alike throughout the years that many of the fathers and mothers coming now were amongst our first audiences back in the eighties.
This year we are presenting
“Robinson Crusoe & the Pirates” by Paul Reakes
and produced by Charmian Thomas, at the Civic Centre between Tuesday
1 December and Saturday 5 December 2009. There will be our usual
Matinee on Saturday. This is the very first pantomime OLT performed way back
in 1981!
The story of Robinson Crusoe is well known but the introduction of the currently
popular “Pirates” should liven things up a bit – sorry we
cannot offer Johnny Depp but who needs Hollywood!
We are always on the lookout for new members, so if anyone would like to assist with any of our productions please contact our membership secretary Lee Wells on 01943 464982 or for a specific production, the producers:Gill Coverdale on 0113 278 1466 or Charmian Thomas on 01943 873865.
