CANDLEMAS DAY Candles will be blessed during Mass on Friday 2nd February, the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord
EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT on Friday 2nd February from 9.00 am, finishing with Holy Communion at 6.30 pm. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be recited at 3.00 pm. If you are able to spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament, please put your name on the list. PRAYER BREAKFAST The next ecumenical Prayer Breakfast will be held at the Methodist Church next Saturday 3rd February at 8.00am ST BLAISE The blessing of throats will take place at the 10.00 am Mass on Saturday 3rd February, the feast of St Blaise PARISH SOCIAL EVENING – will be held in the school hall on Saturday 3rd February, from 7.30 to 11.00 pm. There will be musical entertainment and a hot supper. Tickets are priced £7 and will be on sale after Mass, or from Margaret Poole, Anne Cooney or Agnes Skeoch. Money raised will go to our Uganda parish to help get them a well. EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS HOUSEBOUND TEAM – Holy Communion will be taken out to the sick and housebound of the Parish after the 9.30am Mass next Sunday 4th February by Mary Vickers, Audrey Clissitt, Keith & Sheila Foster, Joe & Margaret McGuinness, Ian Monger, Doreen Nolan, Maggie Power and Peter Thompson. FORTHCOMING EVENTSCAKE SALE – WORLD CHALLENGE EXPEDITION The young people of our parish who are raising funds for the Himalayas Project 2008 are holding a cake sale, in Clitherow House, after 9.30 Mass next Sunday 4th February. A variety of delicious cakes and buns can be purchased. Everybody is welcome. PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL The next PPC meeting will be held at 8.00 pm on Wednesday 7th February in Clitherow House
LEEDS MARRIAGE CARE invite you to a special Mass to celebrate your marriage on Sunday 11th February at St Anne’s Cathedral at11 00am
THE ISRAEL PALESTINE CONFLICT – A study day will be held on 24th February at URC (Bridge Church) to explore the issues surrounding this long term tragedy. This free study day is from 9.30 to 4.30 with tea and coffee provided – bring your own lunch please. The leader for the day is a tutor on a joint church project working in this area. Please let Joanna Guise (463351) know if you would like to come.
YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED – The parish is holding a day of reflection & planning at Myddleton Grange, Ilkley on Sunday 11th March. We want you to plan activities and promote your involvement in all aspects of parish life. Anna Cowell, Diocesan Youth Officer and volunteers from the University Chaplaincy will facilitate the day.
