On  Sunday, 1st, September 2002, 30 parishioners between the ages of 4 and 70 plus completed an 8.4 mile walk from Myddleton Lodge, near Ilkley, to Otley.
Before Our Lady & All Saints Church was built in 1851 the only opportunity to attend Mass for the Catholic people of Otley was at Myddleton Lodge.
The route of the walk mostly followed that thought to have been taken by those early Catholics.
Fr. O'Connor included prayers at the Masses over the weekend and expressed the hope that those taking part in the walk would reflect on their faith and the love of the Mass shown by the people who walked to and from Myddleton every week in all weathers those many years ago.
